Hi my name is Nature Nic and I am a nine year old boy from Hobart Tasmania. I love animals that is how I was Nicknamed
"Nature Nic". My brothers named me Nature Nic because when we would play hide and seek in the bush and I wore my camouflage
gear, they could not find me. They said, He just looks like Nature .....Nature Nic.
I love animals, all kinds, large and small. I think we humans can find out a lot about what is happening to our environment
just by looking at the animals, and how they are suffering.
My hero is the late Steve Irwin. He was fantastic, he really cared about what was happening to our animals, all over
the world. I was very sad when he had his accident, and I know that it is his ability to reach out to people that has
made me more determined to help all our wildlife, I know he would want me to do it. NOW GUESS WHAT...HE
HAS HELPED ME, AUSTRALIA ZOO AND NATURE NIC TEAM UP FOR BLACK AND WHITE DAY AND DEVIL AWARENESS!!!!! MY
DREAM COME TRUE!!!!
Tasmania is a small place and we have a very unique environment. The good part about Tasmania is that we are free
from pests such as the fruit fly. The one problem we do face though is the Fox. Do we have them here or not?
They will kill our native animals. Another problem is domestic cats, people allow them to roam free at night and they
kill and hunt our wildlife. Other times they allow them to become feral and this is a big problem in Tasmania.
I am here to try and make kids aware that we can made a difference. That you don't have to be big to be heard.
You just have to have a voice and an idea. I have lots of ideas to share with everyone if you don't have any, and we
can try and save our animals together, because "two heads are better than one".
If you want to make a difference and help Nature Nic you can look through his web site and see up and coming events, or
even post a blog of an idea and maybe Nic can help get it going.
Well lets keep working towards Nature - lets MAKE A DIFFERENCE...
